Just like last year, Cuts was blessed with wonderful weather….two days in the splendid surroundings of the chateau.

Nearly ten thousand spectators travelled worldwide to witness the unique carriage driving and coaching event.  Not to speak of the hundreds of “locals” and the Europeans from Norway and Spain and a dozen or more other countries…there were also enthusiasts from as far away as South Africa.   They admired the 56 attelages from ten countries, in all their glory….and could appreciate the best and most brilliant of European driving.

For the first time Ireland participated in the courageous person of Sarah Mullins with her stallion Lliedl Rhyfelwr who heroicly crossed two seas to join the party.  And there were numerous new participants which is encouraging for fans of traditional driving.

In the finals there were numerous Brabanconnes for our Belgian friends….the Prize of the Public offered by the General Counsel of the Oise (our county) won by the Winchester turnout of Jacinto Planas Ros (Spain), Edouard Gohin, winner of the tandems.  The Presentation Prize went to a Belgian neighbour Henk van der Wiel, and Antonia Maas (GB) ran away with the honors for feminine elegance.  And the Grand Prize combining all categories was awarded to Bert De Mooij, and his pair of Holsteins, driven to his sublime Napoleon Phaeton.

Next year, the 15th CIAT at Cuts will take place according to the same formula…and hopefully the same sun….dates 21st and 22nd May 2011. Saturday, presentation, Sunday….routier and Maniability.

Coaches will face the three tests the same day…Sunday the 22nd May 2011.

What about a competitor from.  St. Petersbourg?

It’s never too early to start  Training.
